The Public Cloud is a cloud infrastructure shared between multiple public users or ‘tenants’, and is hosted and controlled off-premise by a Cloud Service provider. Due to its shared infrastructure pool, it is most commonly used by organisations for everyday applications that do not contain private or sensitive data.
Tenants of a Public Cloud benefit greatly from economies of scale by sharing the infrastructure costs between them, and only pay for the resources they use – creating a clear price advantage over a Private Cloud.
